Choosing a new pet

If you are acquiring a new pet we can help in a number of ways:

  • Give you advice before purchasing a pet.
  • Carry out a health check within a few days of acquiring your new pet.
  • Discuss with you the dietary needs, training and management of young pets.

Farm

The practice covers the whole range of farm animals.

Health checks at no extra cost

We are able to carry out health checks at no extra cost on the following occasions:

  • At vaccinations and booster vaccinations.
  • Before operations.
  • Before admission to our cattery.

Health checks include dental examination and weight checks.

Horses

Rhyd Broughton has a busy horse section and carries a full range of equine veterinary products.

Insurance

An increasing number of clients are finding that a Pet Health Insurance Plan is useful. Details of recommended plans are available at reception.

Leaflets are available from reception on a wide range of topics including:

  • Dental Health Care.
  • Fleas.
  • Obesity.
  • Feline Leukaemia.
  • Diabetes.

Obesity clinic

Overweight pets have an increased risk of illness and premature death. The aim of the clinic is to produce a weight control programme tailored to each individual pet. This involves dietary advice and regular monitoring of progress.

Senior cat and dog clinic

As your pet grows older the probability of illness becomes greater. By carrying out routine health checks early signs of illness can often be detected and more serious disease prevented.

We recommend that from seven years of age it would be beneficial to your pet to have the in-depth examination provided by this clinic. Please ask for more details from any veterinary surgeon or member of staff.
